DESCRIPTION:Sabato 18 maggio 2024@ La Casa di Alex\, Milano:\nANCIENT VEIL / Opening: LUCA SCHERANI\nLa Casa di Alex\, 20162 Milano – Via Moncalieri 5\ndalle ore 21 – apertura porte ore 20.45 \nUn gradito ritorno per il quarto concerto organizzato da Prog-Mi\, ultimo per la rassegna della stagione primaverile: sarà sul palco della Casa di Alex uno storico gruppo prog genovese che miscela sonorità progressive rock con influenze folk e canterburiane\, gli ANCIENT VEIL\, che proprio qui hanno addirittura registrato un live e che per quest’occasione suoneranno in acustico: eseguiranno dal vivo tutto l’ultimo album Puer Æternus\, che sta avendo un ottimo riscontro di stampa a livello internazionale e tutti i brani storici della band compreso il primo album “Rings of earthly light”\, del ‘91.\nA precederli sarà il loro tastierista LUCA SCHERANI\, altra vecchia conoscenza del pubblico di Casa di Alex\, che qui lo ha visto esibirsi con molte delle band in cui ha suonato.\nBentornati! \nANCIENT VEIL \nLe origini degli Ancient Veil risalgono al 1984 quando Alessandro Serri e Edmondo Romano fondano gli Eris Pluvia\, fautori di una fusione tra i suoni antichi e moderni del progressive rock con influenze folk e canterburiane. Pubblicano l’album “Rings of earthly light” nel ‘91\, ma lasciano la band nel ‘92 per creare con Fabio Serri il progetto Ancient Veil e nel 1995 pubblicano l’album omonimo.\nDopo una pausa di oltre vent’anni\, nel 2017 gli Ancient Veil tornano con il nuovo l’album “I am changing”\, che riceve ottime recensioni dalle più importanti testate prog internazionali.\nSeguono nel 2018 “New – The Ancient Veil remastered”\, ristampa dell’omonimo CD del 1995 e il CD “Rings of earthly… Live”\, registrato nel 2017 a “La Claque” di Genova\, che ripercorre i trent’anni di carriera della band.\nPubblicano poi nel 2019 l’album “1991/1995 Rings of earthly light and other songs”\, nuova versione rimasterizzata del primo disco uscito come Eris Pluvia e nel 2020 l’album “Unplugged Live”\, registrate dal vivo a “La casa di Alex“.\nNel 2022\, per Ma.Ra.Cash. Records\, realizzano un arrangiamento acustico in trio (Alessandro Serri\, Edmondo Romano e Fabio Serri) del brano “I believe in you” per un doppio CD tributo a John Wetton “Celebrating the dragon”.\nEsce nel 2023 “Puer Æternus”\, album decisamente prog con aperture sperimentali\, acustiche\, che è anche un’opera\, è teatro\, storia\, musica per immagini ed emozioni\, dove in primo piano risuonano gli strumenti acustici da sempre marchio degli Ancient Veil\, arricchiti da un quartetto d’archi ed una corposa sezione fiati e da numerosi ospiti come Lino Vairetti degli Osanna\, Roberto Tiranti dei New Trolls\, Tony Cicco dei Formula 3\, Sophya Baccini\, Simona Fasano\, Elisa Marangon. \nLa formazione di questa sera per l’esibizione in acustico: \nAlessandro Serri\, chitarre\, voce\nSimona Fasano\, voce\nEdmondo Romano\, sax soprano\, clarinetto\, flauti\nLuca Scherani piano\, tastiere\nFabio Biale violino\, percussioni\nAndrea Anzaldi\, basso\, chitarra \nTrovate i link ai social di Ancient Veil e all’evento nell’allegato \nOpening : LUCA SCHERANI \nTastierista e compositore ligure\, inizia a studiare pianoforte all’età di cinque anni ed è attivo in ambito prog e pop dagli anni 90. Ha all’attivo diversi album come solista e ha suonato live e in studio con Hostsonaten\, La Coscienza di Zeno\, The Ancient Veil\, The Samurai of Prog\, Sandro Giacobbe\, Il Segno del Comando e molti altri.\nHa suonato in più di 100 dischi e pubblicazioni\, si è esibito in tutta Europa\, in Canada e Stati Uniti.\nNel 2021 compone e produce il disco solista di Stefano “Lupo” Galifi\, leggendario cantante dei Museo Rosenbach.\nE’ del 2023 il suo disco solista più recente “Eveything’s Changing”\, pubblicato per AMS Records. Alessandro e Edmondo nel 1992 lasciano la band e insieme a Fabio Serri creano il progetto ‘Ancient Veil’ e nel 1995 pubblicano l’omonimo CD. “I am changing” è il nuovo capitolo di questo particolare suono. In 1991 they gave birth and arranged their own compositionsof the discographic work “Rings of earthly light” one of the most appreciated albums of international progressive rock of those years. Alessandro and Edmondo in 1992 left the band and together with Fabio Serri created the project ‘Ancient Veil’ and in 1995 they published the homonimous CD. “I am changing” is the new chapter of this particular sound.
